Sidcup

Sidcup

For music buffs worldwide Sidcup Railway Station was the scene for one of the most famous moments in Rock ‘n’ Roll history. A very young Mick Jagger & Keith Richards held a by chance discussion on the platform about music leading to the birth of one of the most popular and enduring rock bands ever, The Rolling Stones. Ironic really as Sidcup is more of an example of the middle class growth in the 1930’s with its leafy streets containing a mixture of large Victorian and Edwardian properties alongside typical 1930s suburbia than that of a Rock ‘n’ Roll revolution.

Today Sidcup continues to develop start of the entertainment and show business world via the Rose Bruford College of drama and Bird College, both of which have many well known and famous alumni.
